Moment Of Silence

"Heroes Never Die"
I have no words to describe all feelings, my friends! These days are so sad in Ukraine.
But I must to tell you. It happened in my peaceful country... 88 people, mostly protesters, are now known to have been killed in clashes since 18 February.
They have changed and saved Ukraine. Thank you, dears, our glorious Heavenly Squad!
I am crying...

The Willow And The First Summer Day

Привіт, друзі! Сьогодні я вирішила випробувати папір в альбомі, який нещодавно побачила та вирішила купити (доречі, виробництво - Україна). Аркуші мають чорний колір. Скажу, не знала, що в результаті вийде. Малювати було напрочуд приємно! Але краще пастель наносити шар за шаром, не втираючи в поверхню паперу. Це така особливість :)

Hi, friends, today I decided to try paint on the black paper in new album which I saw in the art-store. It made in Ukraine! Want to say that I didn't knew what result will be. It was very interesting and very nicely to paint on it! But you might paint layer by layer without friction, this is a feature of this paper.

Pastel, Process Of Creating
Сьогодні вирішила поділитися невеличким уроком в техніці Пастель. Малюємо такий пейзаж:
Today I decided to show how I paint pastel landscape in process on plein air.

Одразу скажу, що фотографувала камерою мобільного телефону, тому кольори приблизні, але, думаю, тут важливо знати принцип.
I used mobile camera, so, colours are little different from scaned picture, but I guess, everything gonna be all right in understanding process ;)

Починаймо! Let's go!

Кольори та папір, які я використала для цього, а також вид (я сиджу нижче лінії горизонту, тому можу бачити перед собою багато трави схилу, на горі якого росте цей кущик).
Colours of paper and pastels which I used with this wonderful view (I am sitting in the bottom of this slope and yellow bush growing on the horizont line, so I can see a lot of grass in front).

1. Спочатку малюємо небо та рожевим - верхівки дерев позаду, визначаємо темну масу хвойних дерев, лишаючи темний колір паперу, додаючи темно-зелений (місцями жовтіший відтінок коричневого) легкими рухами, намічаємо місце куща на поверхні зеленого пагорба.
At first we draw the sky and treetops behind, leave the mass of dark conifers as colour of paper and add some dark-green with light pressure, and some branches of our bush, select it's orientation on the top of the green slope.

2. Додаємо яскравий зелений на місці молодої травички. Все, що позаду куща ми розпушуємо, втираючи в поверхню паперу, щоб показати другий план. Натомість на передньому плані ми лишаємо штрихи не затертими, "живими".
Add a bright green as young grass. Everything behind the bush, we're rubbing with easy movement in surface of the paper to show background effect, while in the foreground we leave strokes "alive".

3. Як бачимо, жовтий кущ не скрізь має однаковий жовтий. Я лишила на фото крейдок, щоб показати один із вибраних мною кольорів, а також помаранчевий, блідо-жовтий. Додаємо більше маси жовтих гілочок, щоб кущ став пухнастішим. Передній план "розбавляємо" тим же блідо-зеленим.
As we can see, the yellow bush has not everywhere the same yellow. I had left in the photo pastel to show one selected colour, and orange, pale yellow. Adding more mass of yellow twigs to create fluffy bush. Foreground "diluted" by the same pale green.

4. Більше пурпурових в тіні під кущем, деякі гілочки робимо світло-рожевими (що виблискують на сонці) та темно-пурпуровими (внизу та вбік). Слідкуємо за їх напрямком, інколи обриваючи лінію, закінчуючи легенькими крапочками (занадто не вдаватися в деталі, спрощувати форму). Головне - не боятися виконувати різкі рухи, щоб зробити "удар" кольору - витягнути його на поверхню.
Ще трохи рожевих кущиків в траві та декілька крапочок минулорічного рудого листячка - і можна йти додому пити теплий чай! :)
More purple in the shade under a bush, create some branches with light pink (which glittering in the sun) and dark purple (bottom and side). Follow their direction, sometimes tearing line, ending with slightly dots (stop making a lot of details,  to oversimplify form of bush). The main thing - do not be afraid to do sharp movements. It make the "punch" of colour - pull it to the surface.
Add a little of pale pink in the grass and a few red-brown to show last year's leaves-dots. And you can go home to drink warm tea! :)

Нарешті з'явилися перші тендітні листочки. І я вирішила ненадовго вибратися на малювання, щоб вхопити перше враження від побаченого, зробити швидкі етюди пастеллю. Якраз доречно і вчасно прочитати статтю Карен Марґуліс. Хочеться бути вільним, легким, як той вітерець.
Finally has appeared first delicate leaves. So I decided go out to paint my first impressions, make quick sketches with pastel. I am really liked the article by Karen Margulis. Quite appropriate and timely to read.):

А інколи ось так схоже на осінній мотив :D And sometimes that's so similar to the autumn motif...

А ось і трішки нарисів зі снігом, іще дуже сиро і прохолодно, сніг тане і тане, перетворюючись у брудну рихлу масу...
Намагаюся малювати з натури, як моя подруга Carolyn, вже готую пастельки ;)
And here a couple little sketches with snow, still very damp and cold, snow melts and melts and turns into the dirty loose paste...
I try to draw on the nature, like my friend Carolyn. I'm already preparing pastels for spring days! ;)

Winter Sketching
Ви вже знаєте, як тільки на вулиці випадає сніг, я відправляюся малювати нариси :) люблю стояти, відморозивши пальці і носа, та малювати все навколо. І що цікаво, чим довше малюєш, тим більше бачиш незвичайного і цікавого у, здавалось би, банальних сюжетах! Не треба ходити і відшуковувати їх, - люди, птахи, тварини рухаються навколо, а все, що було звичайним, одразу стало чарівним, схованим за товстим шаром снігу.
You know as soon as snow falls on the street, I'm going to do sketches! :)
I like to stand in snowdrift, with frozen nose and fingers, and draw all around.
Interestingly, the longer you draw, the more unusual and interesting you can see in seemingly banal subjects! You shouldn't go and seek out them - people, birds, animals move around, and everything was normal, just became magical, hidden under a thick layer of snow.

Хочу помалювати ще, якщо сніг не розтане швидко ;)
I want to draw more if the snow will not melt fast!

Урра! Це перший сніг у Києві! Чую, як шкребуть лопати по асфальтові :)
Пастельні думки кружляють по кімнаті...
Hurray! It was a snowy and wonderful day today! Sky was grey, but air around played a melody with snowflakes :))) ihhiiiii And pastel dreams in my flat.

Привіт-привіт, друзі! :) на цих вихідних я дивилася у воду, ловлячи комарів, прочитала "Зелену милю" Стівена Кінга, "Твін Пікс" та "Гибель Богов" Ніка Перумова. Мені здавалося, що іще щось можна було прочитати, та я лишила час для малювання.

Hi-hi, friends! :) This weekend I looked into the water, catching mosquitoes, read "Green mile" by Stephen King "Twin Peaks" and "Death of Gods" by Nick Perumov. I thought that I could to read something else, but I left the time for painting.

Привіт, мої чудові друзі! :) Мені захотілося посидіти в похмурий день біля дерева в яблуневому саду. Та невдовзі закрапотів дощик, приємний і дрібний. Він залишив свої кольори-крапельки на папері! Ви можете побачити їх :) Пастель, папір, дощ!

Hello, my wonderful friends! :) I wanted to sit-relax in a gloomy day next to the apple tree in the garden. And soon the rain began, nice and small. He left his color-droplets on the paper! You can see them:) Pastel, paper, rain!

Привіт, друзі! Нарешті дощ! :)
То ж вітаю всіх із дощиком і хочу поділитися радістю, тепер дерева вже у чудовому зеленому вбранні із дрібними листочками. Вони так змінилися! Хочеться їх обіймати і обіймати!
Це дерево, яке я малювала навесні, воно стало зовсім інакшим!

Finally the rain! :) So I congratulate all with the rain and want to share my joy, now trees has a beautiful green dresses with small leaves. They have changed!

I want to hug and hug them!
This is a tree, which I painted in the spring, it was completely different!

Вечірнє сонце зараз таке приємне! Вoно так красиво виблискує між листочків та гілок! Уммм! :-)))

The evening sun is so nice now, in spring days! It sparkles so nicely between leaves and branches! Ummm! :-))))

Raining Holes

Коли у небі з'являються багато дірок - то неминуче дощ :))))
Він почав крапати все рясніше, коли я щойно вмостилася поруч розквітлої абрикоски :)
Діряве небо рухається на захід.

If there are many holes in the sky - it will inevitably rain :))))

I Love Apples

Знову цей сад мене надихнув :) старі яблуні, закорючені гілочки! Такі мрійливі. І все зелене та сяюче! Так весело блукати і блимати на сонці, відчуваючи тепло на віях.

This beautiful garden inspired me again:) old apple, twisted branches! Such dreamy. All is green and shining! So fun to wander and blink on the sun, feeling the warmth on eyelashes.

It's Spring!!! Uhuhuuu! Hurray!

Трохи світла

A Little Of Light

Сьогодні, виходячи з дому, я думала, що малюватиму пасмурні стіни навколишніх будинків, а потім я зрозуміла, що сонце вийшло прогулятися також:-)

Тож якраз для вас, мої друзі: трохи світла, весняного неба та пару краплинок весняних квіточок в куточку! :)

Today, leaving home, I thought that I'll be paint such cloudy walls of nearby houses, but then I understood that the sun came out for a walk :) 

So just for you, my friends: a little light, spring sky and a couple of drops of the spring flowers in the corner! :)
